Citronella Ants

Citronella ants, also called Large Yellow Ants, are harmless to humans but can be a nuisance when they invade homes in large swarms. They are often mistaken for termite swarmers, as they appear in early spring or late summer. These ants don’t bite or sting but release a strong lemon-like odor when crushed. They typically nest under logs, stones, or near foundations and may swarm indoors if disturbed.
